Seventy-five years ago, E.B. White wrote about New York’s capacity to do great things—even in times of crisis: “The Empire State Building shot twelve hundred and fifty feet into the air when it was madness to put out as much as six inches of new growth.”
Now, it can seem that the city and state move forward six inches at a time.
I wrote about New Yorkers’ dire need for faster progress in The Daily News, suggesting what we can achieve if we fight together for an Abundance Agenda:
Over the last six months, we’ve been proud to assemble an undeniable bloc of over 1,000 New York voters, donors, advocates, policymakers, journalists, and more. Together, we’re demanding that elected officials respond not just to the vocal few who oppose change but to the majority whose future requires it.
As we look to 2025—and the opportunity to reshape New York politics through citywide and City Council elections—it’s imperative that we continue growing our power by growing our community.
Here are five ways to help accelerate our progress together:
Share our op-ed (that’s a non-paywalled gift link!)
Come to our event this Saturday, “What’s Next For the Abundance Agenda in New York?” with Ben Max, our favorite local journalist; Mark Levine, the Manhattan Borough President; and Amanda Litman, the founder and President of Run for Something
Invite a friend to come to the event or to join our community
Thank you, and we hope to see you on Saturday—and to keep building power together in 2025 to make 1,250-feet worth of progress for New Yorkers.
